Diesel and Safilo go their separate ways. Joining back in 1994, the Italian giants announce their licensing agreement will end next December.

Licence holders of Carrera, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Tommy Hilfiger (recently acquired), Marc by Marc Jacobs, Dior and many others, Safilo misses out with the departure of Diesel, a brand that represented about 2% of their sales revenue in 2009.

Safilo's successor is still not yet known.
