A.F. Vandevorst has begun a one-week residency at the high-profile Selfridges Corner Shop as part of the department store’s Anatomy of Luxury project.

The pop-up will run until May 6 and will be part of the brand’s ongoing 20-year anniversary celebration. And the installation is certainly designed to grab the attention of passers-by. It features 13 hospital beds and key looks from the label’s archive based on its famous spring/summer 1999 show.

To coincide with the installation, the duo behind the label, An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, will also host a public signing event on the evening of May 3 for their newly released book ‘ENDE NEU’. This offers an insight into the world of the cult Belgian fashion designer duo.

There will also be a selection of 20-year anniversary merchandise available at Selfridges, as well as the label’s T-shirt capsule with stylist and fashion activist B. Åkerlund.

The Anatomy of Luxury has been making waves in recent months and has seen Selfridges setting up a temporary concept store aiming to shift consumer perceptions of what constitutes luxury. It has been focusing on a number of radical brands and has also launched a major cinema ad campaign and art installation.
