New York City-based brand Aimé Leon Dore launched its first ever womenswear collection on its website this weekend. The collection named 47th St. is a follow up to the brand’s 35th St. men’s capsule collection.
The 47th St. collection is a feminine take on the Aimé Leon Dore narrative. The streetwise, downtown aesthetic is applied to a boxy, masculine “boyfriend fit” silhouette. The collection consists of wool pants, pleated shorts, drop shoulder tees, rib knit crop tops and turtlenecks, waffle lined throw over jackets, a leather jacket and a faux fur coat. The popular men’s pieces made its way into the women’s collection, particularly top coats, vests, sweat shorts and waffle leggings.
Designer Teddy Santis pushed the envelope when it comes to fabric and texture. Like the 35th St. collection, the 47th St. women’s collection features Sherpa styles, fleece and waffle styles and a leather jacket, but the women’s collection is the first to debut a faux fur coat.
The 47th. St. women’s collection is available on the Aimé Leon Dore website.
