Alber Elbaz leaving Lanvin

The news has been confirmed. Alber Elbaz, the Creative Director at French luxury house Lanvin for the past fourteen years, has resigned. An official press release is expected in the next few days.

American media outlet Women's Wear Daily broke the news and reports sources as saying "the rupture came following disagreements between the charismatic Israeli designer and company principals: owner Shaw-Lan Wang and chief executive officer Michèle Huiban."

The announcement comes less than a week after the news that Raf Simons has stepped down from his role as Creative Director at Christian Dior. Some are linking the two occurrences and speculating that Elbaz will be replacing Simons.

Although rumour has it that Elbaz has already left the house, no official news has yet been received.

No ideas yet though on who will succeed Elbaz.
