American Eagle launches heavy hitting millennial fall campaign

Published
Sep 7, 2016

American Eagle Outfitters has launched it's "#WeAllCan" fall campaign designed to target millennials through actors, musicians and influencers that represent the generation's empowerment.

"We All Can encourages Young America to follow their passion, express their individuality and pursue their unique path, providing a motivating invitation to share what they can do, be or create," comments Chad Kessler, American Eagle Outfitters Global Brand President.

Kessler continued, "We look forward to igniting a conversation and empowering our customers to answer 'Can You?,' ultimately showing how together, We All Can."

Featured in the campaign are names such as Hailee Steinfeld, Troye Sivan, Yara Shahidi, Cody Christian, Raury, Neels Visser, Jasmine Sanders,  Landon McNamara, Valentina Cytrynowicz, Michael Lockley, Juana Burga and Xiao Wen Ju. The individuals were selected for their representation of open-mindedness and empowerment that represents the millennial generation.

We All Can will also see the launch of limited edition tee shirts and 100 hand painted denim jackets showcasing the spirit of the campaign, available online only.

"American Eagle Outfitters is all about an inclusive positive spirit that empowers young people all over the world.  This new campaign is just the first step in bringing this voice to life through an inspiring cast of individuals," states Trey Laird, founder and chief creative officer of Laird+Partners, the agency American Eagle turned to for their fall campaign.

Laird said, "After creating this first installment with this incredible group of collaborators, I am more inspired than ever in the power of this generation to move the world forward, and look great doing it!"

In addition to the apparel campaign, American Eagle will hold activations throughout the season that highlight the message of empowerment.

To that end, the brand will also partner with Rock the Vote and release tee shirts commemorating the oldest and largest nonpartisan, nonprofit dedicated to youth empowerment just in time for election season. 100% of the sales of the tees sold in stores will go to Rock the Vote.
