Artcurial returns to Monaco for January watch, jewelry and Hermès auctions

The Artcurial auction house is heading to the Monte-Carlo Yacht Club, January 19 to 21, 2017, to sell fine watches and jewelry, as well as vintage Hermès leather goods. Collectors from Monaco and further afield will have the chance to bid for exceptional, rare and precious pieces during the three-day auction.

Pictured here a Suzanne Belperron 'Egyptien' ensemble with necklace in diamonds and yellow gold (estimated at €30.000 – 40.000) and brooch in yellow gold and diamonds (estimated at €10.000 – 15.000) - Artcurial

For the second year running, Artcurial is heading to Monaco this winter to hold a sale of luxurious creations. Collectors and fans hunting exceptional pieces will be able to bid for the chance to take home jewelry, collection-piece watches and creations from the Hermès Winter Collection.

"We are returning to Monaco this winter after the success of our first edition in 2015, which totaled €4.3M, with 1/3 new clients and 26 nationalities represented. Monaco confirms its appeal for attracting the most discerning collectors who can be sure to find the rarest pieces, whether from Hermès or in watches or jewelry," explains François Tajan, Artcurial auctioneer and Artcurial SAM administrator.

Buccellati, Boucheron, Cartier

The fine jewelry auction, held January 19 and 20, features creations from some of the biggest names in the business, including Boucheron and Van Cleef & Arpels. Standout pieces include a yellow gold and diamond parure by Suzanne Belperron, plus several jewelry pieces from the collection of a European princely family, including a Buccellati yellow gold dome ring with a 15.40-karat emerald-cut diamond.

The January 19 fine watch sale includes pieces by Cartier, Rolex, Patek Philippe and Breguet. Collectors can expect complications, high-end expertise, vintage models and rare pieces to go under the hammer. A first-generation Rolex Milgauss, estimated at €90,000 and €120,000, is of particular interest.

Hermès leather goods are up for auction January 21, in a sale that focuses on iconic bags like the Birkin, the Constance and the Kelly. One unusual lot also up for grabs is a bicycle made by the Hermès workshop, valued at €5,000 to €8,000.

Ahead of the auction, all items will go on display in Paris, January 7 and 9, then in Monaco, January 17 to 21.
