Launched in England in June 2000 by Nick Robertson, Asos.com is today the largest online independent e-commerce fashion retailer. With approximately 800 brands and over 1500 new items added each week, the site offers international brands such as: Elliot, Betsey Johnson, J. Lindeberg, Jaeger London, K by Karl Lagerfeld, PPQ, McQ by Alexander McQueen and Sonia by Sonia Rykiel. Ready-to-wear can also be bought: Mango, G-Star, Diesel, Hugo Boss. Not forgetting English labels: Oasis, Karen Millen , Reiss, Hackett and some emerging young British designers such as Louise Gray, Holly Fulton, Mawi, and Marjan Pejoski.

The other highlight of the site is its own brand Asos; designed by a creative team whose items actually account for half of the company's sales. It includes ready-to-wear, menswear, childrenswear, and accessories (including shoes). In line with the very British style, it is sold at a wide price range: dresses 31 - 325 Euros, jackets between 37 - 285 and shoes 20 - 210 Euros.

The site's leading success should ensure a healthy expansion for Asos.fr and Asos.de. In addition, already known to the United States, the online retailer will launch its own website in the U.S. this autumn.

The British version already attracts more than 7.5 million unique visitors per month and intends primarily to target men and women aged 16-34 years old.

Ten years after its launch, Asos.com employs over 1000 people and has recently recorded sales totalling about 263 million Euros; a figure that continues to increase on an international scale.
