Badgley Mischka taps Parker Smith for luxury denim capsule collection

Badgley Mischka has partnered with the Los Angeles-based luxury denim brand Parker Smith for a ten-piece denim capsule collection that will be available online and in stores in January 2019 to coincide with the brand’s thirtieth anniversary.

The US-based design house Badgley Mischka has made its first foray into denim in collaboration with Parker Smith. The fruit of this collaboration, a ten-piece capsule jeans collection, mixes Badgley Mischka’s American glamour with Parker Smith’s signature denim fit. The collection aims to celebrate a woman’s inner confidence and present Badgley Mischka fans with more casual options.

"It was an easy decision to collaborate with Parker Smith on the creation of an exclusive denim collection,” said Mark Badgley, designer at Badgley Mischka in a press release.

“Prioritizing both brand's commitment to effortless elegance, the collection will feature our signature designs with beautiful embellishment, on jeans lauded for their quality and fit."

"Badgley Mischka customers are often pairing our sportswear pieces with denim, so this introduction is a natural progression and allows us to give them the full look,” said Badgley Mischka’s EVP, Lara Piropato in a press release.

“We are launching a capsule collection of ten styles that merchandise beautifully with our spring sportswear and have details and embroidery inspired by our couture division. We hope the woman who fell in love with one of our couture gowns but doesn't have a major event, will buy our denim and feel just as glamorous." Parker Smith’s CEO, Mary Ellen Moschetti, elaborated. “Each piece is inherently feminine and wearable, which caters to any modern woman.”

The collection is priced at between $250 and $600 and is made using soft-optic white twills. The jeans feature metallic foil finishes, ornate embroidery, embellishments including crystals and pearls, beading, and washes and effects. The collection also features a number of denim cuts such as straight leg, skinnies, and mid- and high-rise cuts.
