Badgley Mischka to enter beauty sector through worldwide license deal with TPR Holdings

TPR Holdings LLC announced on Tuesday that it has signed a worldwide beauty license with Badgley Mischka, and will be developing a fragrance and a line of color cosmetics for the brand.

 
TPR president Brian Robinson remarked in a release, “Mark Badgley and James Mischka are iconic designers with a distinct style,” adding, “The sophisticated aesthetic of their brand caters to a younger, more modern couture customer. We are looking forward to creating award-winning fragrances and color cosmetics for the Badgley Mischka brand.”
 
James Mischka described Badgley Mischka’s move into the beauty category as a natural progression that aims to engage its customers more intimately with the brand.

“Brian Robinson and his team have proven expertise in terms of understanding how to develop and grow a beauty brand globally within the context of a worldwide license,” he said, affirming that the license is “an exciting opportunity for us to broaden our vision”.
 
Mark Badgley and James Mischka founded the brand that bears their names in 1988 and have been counted among the “Top 10 American Designers” by Vogue. The New York-based label – a favourite of Hollywood stars including Madonna, Rihanna and Sarah Jessica Parker – is sold at its Beverly Hills flagship, as well as at a number of high-end stores, such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
 
TPR Holdings LLC is an NYC-based investor and operator in the consumer products industry. The group owns and operates the cosmetics and personal care brands Mally Beauty, Cargo Cosmetics, Oscar Blandi Hair Care, ybf Beauty and Freeze 24/7.
 
TPR’s first fragrance for Badgley Mischka will launch in Spring 2018, while the color line is slated to release in the Summer.
