Bath & Body Works lifts L Brands September sales

L Brands reported on Wednesday net sales and comparable sales increases for the month of September. Net sales increased 6% to $971.4 million from $919.9 million in September 2015, and comparable sales increased 3% over the previous year.

Bath & Body Works increased in 9% in comparable sales over the previous year and Victoria’s Secret remained flat compared to an increase of 8% in 2015. 
 
Victoria’s Secret underwent restructuring this year to improve its sales and business. L Brands simplified the Victoria’s Secret business model by creating three units—Lingerie, Pink and Beauty. The brand has experienced fierce competition from rival brand Aerie, which has improved American Eagle’s business tremendously.

For the 35 weeks ending on October 1, 2016, L Brands net sales increased 4% to $7.023 billion and comparable sales increased 3%.
