Billy Reid to celebrate Frank Lloyd Wright at annual Shindig celebration

Billy Reid kicks off on Friday the party to end the summer, Billy Reid Shindig No. 9, the ninth edition of the annual celebration of fashion, music, art, food and friends.

 
Reid held the first Shindig party in 2009 in his adopted hometown of Florence, Alabama, and made the summer party an annual event for all those that embrace Mason-Dixon culture and the festival experience.
 
In 2016, the American designer hosted musician Jack White and actor Alex Sharp for the annual party and held a runway show over the weekend.

This year is special for Shindig No. 9 as it marks the 150th birthday of late architect Frank Lloyd Wright, who lived in Florence at the Rosenbaum House, his only home in the South (the house is also in walking distance of the Billy Reid headquarters). Reid is honoring the late architect and interior designer with a fashion installation of his latest and favorite designs at Rosenbaum House.
 
In addition, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit with Cedric Burnside and Preservation Hall Jazz Band with Carl Broemel will perform in concert over the weekend at the Shoals Theatre, Chef John Currence will hold a Friday night welcome dinner with a line up of award winning female chefs, Chef Rebecca Wilcomb, Chef Cheetie Kumar, Chef Kelly Fields, and Chef Lisa Marie Donovan, and Reid will host the “Business Man’s Special” Baseball Game with The White Stripes’ Jack White.
 
Billy Reid Shindig No. 9 will run through Sunday, August 27.
