Bio Eyes (b.e), an eyewear brand from Modo, on Wednesday launched a new eyewear collection with Walmart.
The sunglass and optical collection consists of men's and women's eyewear frames that are made from plant-based materials that contain 54% castor seed oil, which is a sustainable USDA certified material.
"Our customers are not only looking for affordable, quality frames, but also products that make a difference," said Tabitha Watkins, merchandise manager, optical, Walmart U.S. "We're excited to bring bio eyes to our shelves not only for what it will do for our customers, but for what is does for the environment and for children across the globe."
In addition to offering eyewear, Bio Eyes provides a child in need of eye care numerous benefits with every frame sold. The company offers teacher trainings, vision screenings, optometrist exams, prescription glasses, corrective treatments and surgeries through the “Buy a frame, Help a child to see” program in partnership with the Seva Foundation.
The Seva Foundation, Bio Eyes' philanthropic partner, specializes in sight restoration and provides access to quality eye care worldwide. The Berkeley, California-based foundation works in over 20 countries through local partnerships with eye hospitals and has helped more than 3.5 million people since 1978. As of Sunday, July 17, 2016, Bio Eyes and the Seva Foundation have helped 86,478 children through the “Buy a frame, Help a child to see” program.
The Bio Eyes optical and sun collection is available exclusively at Walmart Vision Centers, and prices begin at $54.
