Hardin previously served as Senior Vice President Chief Creative Officer at Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor before focusing entirely on his creative agency, christensenHardin, as Creative Director. He also held executive roles at Kohl’s as VP of Creative Branding, as SVP and Creative Brand Management at Saks Fifth Avenue and GVP and Global Brand Image at Avon.

In regards to joining Bon-Ton, Hardin said that he looks forward to working with President & CEO Kathy Buffano, who he had worked with in the past, and COO Bill Tracy who suggested Hardin for the role.

Hardin said, “These are such strange times we live in and I feel as I always have that we all need to remain flexible, connected and ready for what’s coming next. This is a great opportunity and I’m anxious to get started. I’ve come a very long way over a very long time from my first days at Vogue—and my father thought I’d never, ever get a job.”

Bon-Ton was pleased with its holiday performance, despite decreases in total sales and comparable sales. The company maintained its full-year guidance after the holiday season, but it expects to be at the low end of its expectations.

Bon-Ton will issue its fourth quarter and full year results on March 14, 2017.
