Bon-Ton appoints Norm Veit as EVP, Chief Information Officer

The Bon-Ton Stores on Tuesday announced the appointment of Norm Veit as Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, effective on May 1, 2017. He is responsible for the company’s IT strategy and operations.

Veit joined Bon-Ton from Nine West where he most recently served as Chief Information Officer and EVP, Distribution, Real Estate & Facilities. In this role, he was responsible for the company’s global IT strategy and operations, revamped retail systems to improve efficiency, enhanced the customer shopping experience and all corporate real estate and facilities operations.
 
The 35-year veteran also served as Senior Vice President Corporate MIS and Vice President, MIS at Nine West.

Bon-Ton hires Norm Veit months after hiring Russ Hardin as VP Creative for Online & Print. Hardin joined the company from Hudson’s Bay where he served as Senior Vice President Chief Creative Officer for the company and Lord & Taylor.

The company in March reported a 3.8% decrease in comparable sales due to weak traffic and warm weather.
