Burberry appoints new president for the U.S. market

Published
Jan 15, 2013

Burberry has announced the appointment of Jan Heppe as president of Burberry for the U.S, Canada and Latin America zones. Heppe has been with the group since 2001 and served as COO since 2010, overseeing all of the British brand’s sales channels in the Americas markets.

Following the example of the big luxury groups, Burberry’s operations are run by three presidents for three zones in Asia, Europe and the Americas rather than separate management for each country. Such a set-up manages all sales channels in all countries included in their area of expertise.

Jan Heppe will report directly to Angela Ahrendts, CEO of the group. “Jan is an outstanding leader with deep operational expertise, and has played a key role in the successful transformation of the Burberry business in the region over the past decade,” said Ahrendts. The CEO said that America still holds great opportunities for growth through “the potential of existing channels and new markets in the region.”
