CCTFA acquires Cosmetics Magazine

The Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CCTFA) announced on Monday that it will acquire Cosmetics magazine and the brand’s two flagship events—the Cosmetics Outstanding Service Awards (COSAs) and the Canadian Fragrance Awards—from Rogers Media.

The acquisition follows Rogers media recent announcement that it would be divesting all of its B2B publications.

“The CCTFA is thrilled to have acquired Cosmetics Magazine and its associated events—the Cosmetics Outstanding Service Awards (COSAs) and the Canadian Fragrance Awards. These three properties make important contributions to the Canadian beauty industry and the CCTFA looks forward to seeing them evolve and grow as we prepare for the year ahead,” says CCTFA president Darren Praznik, in a statement posted on cosmeticsmag.com “We would also like to recognize the contributions of the many people at Rogers who had the vision to create these properties and who worked so hard to make them a success over the years.”

The CCTFA will acquire control as of December 15, 2016.

The CCTFA is the lead Canadian trade association for the personal care products industry.
