Canada Fashion Group names new executive director
Jun 5, 2018
Canada Fashion Group (CFG) announced on Monday the appointment of Roger Gingerich as the new Executive Director for both Toronto Men’s Fashion Week (TOM*) and Toronto Women’s Fashion Week (TW).
Gingerich has been on the advisory board for both TOM* and TW since its inception eight seasons ago.
He has over 30 years of experience in the fashion industry across Canada, and is regular fashion expert on CBC Radio and television, as well as being the Regional Director for FGI Toronto, and sitting on a number of advisory boards.
“We are very excited about Roger’s vision for both TOM* & TW,” said Mike Rustia, Board Chair of CFG. “His extensive knowledge of the national and international fashion industry will take our two fashion weeks to the next level.”
Gingerich will succeed Jeff Rustia, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
“To take on a position that was lead for so many years by Jeff Rustia, I am honoured and humbled,” said Gingerich. “He was a passionate, talented man and we will miss his energy in the building. But, for Jeff, the shows must go on.”
Last season both TOM* & TW boasted six days of shows, 37 designers and welcomed over 36,000 guests.
The group is expected to make more announcements in the coming weeks regarding a new venue and a revamped format for Canadian designers.
