"What's more prevalent this year is how the global impact of technology, changing consumer shopping preferences and political disruption is directly affecting retailers in Canada", said Kyle Tomlin, Vice President Education and Events, in a news statement. "This year's conference topics and speakers will talk to some of the really tough questions and provide a range of unexpected perspectives that retailers can immediately bring to their teams."

Speakers will include Duncan Fulton, President of FGL Sports who will talk about preparing for the new world of retail; Matt Shay, President of the National Retail Federation who will discuss global forces, times of change and their influence on retail; and Sylvain Prud'homme, President & CEO of Lowe's Canada, to name a few.

The RCC will also award the winners of the 2017 Excellence in Retailing Awards at the end of the two-day conference. Sixty-one finalists from 35 companies including Canada Goose, Sport Chek, Mountain Equipment Co-Op, Roots Canada, Sears Canada Inc., and more are in the running for awards in 10 retail categories.

RCC is a not-for-profit industry-funded association and represents small, medium and large retail business in every community across the country.
