Cerruti 1881 has put the finishing touch on its organisational structure. CEO Richard Cohen joined the Italian fashion label specialised in menswear at the end of 2014, followed by Creative Director Jason Basmajian last October. Now Cerruti has announced the appointment of Frenchman Laurent Grosgogeat as General Manager.

The fashion label stated in a press release that Grosgogeat's mission is "to bolster the brand's international expansion and to re-energise Cerruti's image as an outstanding luxury menswear brand."

Laurent Grosgogeat spent his entire career in the luxury goods industry. He held senior management positions at some of Paris' leading names, from Louis Vuitton to Chanel.

He has been in turn a consultant for Estée Lauder, Vice-President of Luxury Watches-Jewellery for Chanel's USA-Pacific region, and General Manager in Korea and Italy for Cartier. Before that, he was Marketing Director for leather goods and scarves at Cartier, and product manager for leather goods and accessories at Louis Vuitton.

In April 2011, Paris-based Cerruti was acquired by Trinity, a Chinese company specialised in menswear and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Trinity's majority shareholder is Hong Kongese group Li & Fung, which also owns bespoke British tailors Gieves & Hawkes and Hardy Amies. Before buying Cerruti 1881, Trinity was its long-standing partner in China.

The label currently operates 126 stores worldwide.
