California based menswear company Chapter will be launching a women’s collection for fall 2016.

Chapter designer Devin Carlson said, “I’ve gotten requests from stylists and friends to shoot our clothing on women so it’s always been on the mind. This season, the silhouettes that I was creating lent themselves to women’s and it was a natural progression.”

The Chapter website explains the collection is “designed for the composed, bold and effortlessly stylish woman whom appreciates a trend but never lets it dictate her style. The Chapter woman finds comfort in simplicity, minimalism and detail, but always looks beyond the functional for the inspirational as well. She gravitates to feminine styles with a nod to the masculine: dark opulent colors like black, emerald green, midnight blue and olive; premium fabrics like lambskin, silk and wool blends; oversized proportions, geometric lines.”

The debut women’s collection is called Admission, and while it is designed specifically for the female form, it does not stray far from the brand’s roots in menswear.

The brand notes the collection is “inspired by the city of Los Angeles and its inclusive nature, Chapter’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection revels in confidence, intention and the experience of finding yourself on a path lined with distractions that can be all consuming.”

It continues, “the city has many nocturnal faces, each unearthing a subculture sought after by the individuals who seek to not only fulfill their personal ambitions but to encounter new experiences along the way. The collection brings those elements of transformation and distraction to life with a new approach to familiar Chapter silhouettes.”
