Christian Siriano adds wine to his design portfolio

Published

Fashion designer Christian Siriano can now add wine labels to his design portfolio, with a new collaboration with Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio hitting the shelves this summer.

Ecco Domani

As Rebecca Minkoff forged the way in contemporary fashion and wine industry styling with her recent partnership with Chandon, business savvy Siriano now has entered into the wine label market himself.

The designer has partnered with Ecco Domani for a limited edition bottle design for the winery's summery Pinot Grigio. Ecco Domani was seeking to convey glamour to its consumers and enlisted Siriano to bring that experiential concept to life visually.

Siriano's inspiration came from 1960s Palm Springs and the iconic glamour of the vintage florals that came from that period in fashion history. The bottle offers Ecco Domani's signature green with an all over bright pink floral pattern reminiscent of mid Century summery textiles.

Siriano said,"Summer is filled with chic, special gatherings so I wanted to create a design that adds an element of sophistication to these occasions... I find that in both fashion and entertaining, you can elevate the everyday by incorporating simple yet elegant details, and I think this label does exactly that."

Siriano gained national attention when he won Project Runway. He has since shown his collection seasonally at New York Fashion Week, operates a flagship brick and mortar store on Elizabeth Street in NYC, and was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2013.

In addition to dressing celebrities, he has been a guest designer for Payless ShoeSource since 2009 and has launched four seasonal collections annually for the retailer. He is a prolific designer, originally trained in London by McQueen and Vivienne Westwood, who brings his whimsical designs and creative aesthetic across categories with wine labels being his latest partnership.

The Christian Siriano limited edition Ecco Domani Pino Grigio bottles are now available nationwide with a suggested retail price offering of $10.99.
