Columbia Sportswear to link up with UK National Parks

Published
May 16, 2017

US-based outdoor-wear and sports specialist Columbia Sportswear is to unveil a major link-up with the UK’s National Parks at an event next week fronted by UK TV personality and avid rambler Julia Bradbury.

UK National Parks

The company will give details of a “first of its kind” five-year partnership that will see the American firm working with each of the 15 UK National Parks to “help enhance the quality and usability of the parks for now and for future generations while also providing staff, rangers and volunteers with apparel and footwear to keep them warm, dry, cool and protected.”

The company said that the money saved from outfitting the staff will be made available to fund important park projects. The parks include the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, the New Forest, Dartmoor and the Cairngorms.

The event will take place at the Queen’s House, situated in Greenwich Park, which is not one of the National Parks but is one of the closest locations to London that underlines the appeal of the UK’s natural landscape.
