Conrad luxury hotels create the post of Director of Inspiration
The 'Stay Inspired' programme was launched last October by luxury hotel brand Conrad Hotels & Resorts (owned by the Hilton group), its purpose to train and allow hotel team members to become "enthusiastic story-tellers for their destinations."
As part of the programme, Peter Jon Lindberg was appointed Director of Inspiration. He is the former editor-in-chief of Condé Nast Traveller, and was awarded, among others, the title of 'Travel Journalist of the Year' by the Society of American Travel Writers. Among his tasks, that of proposing 1, 3 and 5-hour itineraries focused on art, culture, food and adventure to Conrad customers in New York, Dubai, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Miami, Beijing, Tokyo and the Maldives.
In practical terms, Conrad Hotels & Resorts customers will be able to follow the trips inspired by Peter Jon Lindberg via the Conrad Concierge mobile app, and on the Stayinspired.com website. From these applications, travellers can save and share their Conrad itineraries, access personalised content such as pictures, videos or maps, and book a room or an experience through the hotel's concierge.
The post of Director of Inspiration is justified, according to T. A. Vanderslice, worldwide director of Conrad Hotels & Resorts, "by the notion that, for Conrad customers, travelling is not defined simply by the destination, since the journey is also highly important." The Director of Inspiration will be able to propose unique experiences, for each destination and culture, to a demanding luxury clientèle.
