The store concept developed by French label Zadig & Voltaire for two of its Paris stores is not a replica of the design of Saint Laurent's avenue Montaigne store, also in the French capital. The ruling was issued by the Paris trade court on 26th September.

Yves Saint Laurent had filed a complaint against the brand founded by Thierry Gillier, arguing that its two Champs-Elysées stores in Paris had too many similarities with the interior design of Saint Laurent's avenue Montaigne store.

The luxury label's claim was rejected, and Saint Laurent has been sentenced to pay Zadig & Voltaire the sums of €300,000 in damages and interest for improper proceedings, and €100,000 in court fees.
