Cyclebar plans major UK investment

Published

American indoor cycling franchise CycleBar is plotting to expand its international reach as it eyes an entry into the UK market. The company is understood to be on the hunt for at least 50 locations, mostly outside London.

The rapidly growing cycling franchise has nearly 100 franchised studios and aims to reach 150 by the end of the year, with over 200 additional locations in development. The company signed a deal to open its first studios in the UAE last year, and has also set its sights on on Southeast Asia and Central America for additional international expansion.

According to Property Week, the UK is also set to welcome the premium indoor cycling boutique, but Central London would not be a major focus.

Instead, the brand is targeting edge-of-town sites and retail parks, with some of the first sites likely to be locations around the M25. There are also potential franchisees in Manchester and Northern Ireland.

The first studio could open as early as the end of this year, as CycleBar said it is currently in negotiations on three sites.

The market entry is likely to boost the cycling craze further and possible impact cycling clothing brands favourably.
