DSW continues to expand across Canada

US multi-brand footwear retailer DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse is continuing to expand across Canada with the opening of three new stores set for this spring.

Among the new locations, two will open in Ontario, in Ajax and Brampton on March 1, while the other will open in Edmonton in May, bringing the company’s Canadian store count to 27. Compared to the United States, where DSW boasts just over 500 stores.
All three stores will house DSW Kids footwear and accessory departments, bringing the total number of Canadian locations with kid's products to 17. The new stores will also feature a 1,500-square-foot space dedicated to women's handbags.

The men's and women's off-price footwear retailer, which carries brands such as Nicole Miller, Sam Edelman, Vince Camuto, Cole Haan, Nine West, and Clarks to name a few, opened its first Canadian store in the summer of 2014 and pursued a rapid expansion through to 2016.

DSW entered the Canadian market through the partial acquisition of Town Shoes Ltd, which operates under Town Shoes, Shoe Warehouse and The Shoe Company, which it still owns a minority share of.
