Eileen Fisher to open first pop up in Brooklyn

Eileen Fisher this week announced the opening of its first pop up retail location in New York City. The pop up will serve as the exclusive retailer for the brand’s Remade in the USA collection created by the CFDA Social Innovator Award Winners.

The pop up, which is slated to open on July 23, will house the Remade in the USA collection, the first scalable zero-waste collection offering one-of-a-kind pieces created from felting techniques and natural dying, and select products from the Eileen Fisher and Green Eileen brands.
 
The eco-friendly fashion brand created the Social Innovators Award in partnership with the CFDA to offer fashion design students the opportunity to work alongside Eileen Fisher designers, merchandisers and social consciousness teams. The winners, Teslin Doud, Carmen Gama and Lucy Jones, participated in a 12-month residency project to prototype new designs from damaged clothes for the Green Eileen recycling program.

“My vision is for a closed-loop company that designs into sustainability from the very beginning all the way through to our recycling program—and now, our upcycling program,” said Fisher.
 
Green Eileen launched in 2009 with a commitment to reducing environmental impacts and generating income to support programs that improve the lives of women and girls. To date, the program has taken in 500,000 garments, resold 200,000 and donated $2 million. The Remade in the USA project helps to move forward the brand’s Vision2020 goals. The brand expects its recycling total to one million by the year 2020
 
In addition to the pop up and collection launch, Eileen Fisher and Fashionista will hold a panel discussion with the founder and three winners. Guests must reserve tickets for the discussion, which will be held on Thursday, July 21.
 
The Eileen Fisher pop up shop will open on July 23, 24, 30 and 31.
