Emma Watson launches sustainable fashion-focused Instagram account

Emma Watson wants everyone to know about an important cause, and what better way than with Instagram, especially if the cause is fashion-related. During her upcoming press tour for her new movie Beauty and the Beast, the Hollywood celebrity has launched an Instagram profiling her sustainable fashion choices.

Press tours find celebrities going through outfit change after outfit changes, for red carpets and press conferences. Watson will post photos throughout the tour, showing off the work of designers who engage in sustainable production processes. Even though Watson has only posted three photos so far, the account already boasts a strong following of 258,000.

In her first few posts, Watson highlighted Stella McCartney, who has sworn to never use leather, skins, or furs in her products, Filippa K, a Swedish brand uses recycled textiles, and Burberry, for the house's use of organic silks.

Watson is a proud eco-activist, making headlines for wearing a Calvin Klein dress crafted from recycled plastic bottles at the 2016 Met Gala. In October of 2016, Watson released a clothing collaboration with New York e-commerce site Zady, which utilizes non-toxic, non-synthetic fabrics and a locally-based manufacturing process.
