Fashion Art Toronto is back April 12-16

Toronto’s alternative arts and fashion week, Fashion Art Toronto, is back for its annual showcase April 12 to the 16.

The event dedicated to celebrating contemporary art and design through runway shows, live performances, fashion films, photography exhibits and art installations will feature over 50 designers and artists.

This 11 edition, titled Dress Code, will explore the major role fashion plays in constructing identity. Artists and designers will specifically seek to interpret clothing as a marker of social status, gender, class, culture, religion, occupation, attitudes and as a form of self expression. Each day has been baptized with a different theme.

Designers showcases will include Amplify Apparel, Connor McCalden, Lesley Hampton also seen at this year’s edition of Vancouver Fashion Week, and many more.

The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased online at fashionarttoronto.ca, or at the door.
