Luxury fashion boutique Forty Five Ten announced on Tuesday the opening of its new Downtown Dallas flagship store on Main Street.
The new 37,000-square-foot flagship store is a four-level space offering brands and designers such as Prada, Miu Miu, Gucci, Alaïa, Céline, Marc Jacobs, Maison Margiela, Berluti, and Sidney Garber among others. Forty Five Ten showcases its product assortment in dedicated sections including a fine jewelry salon, shoe salon, and designer shop-in-shops. The flagship’s first floor occupies the Copper Bar, a coffee and champagne bar managed by The Joule, and the fourth floor houses a terrace.
Droese Raney Architecture designed the flagship and incorporated luxurious interior details like copper, rose gold, blackened steel, walnut, and Arabescato marble with bronze accents. The exterior features dark brick, custom steel and metal work, and floor-to-ceiling windows, and custom textiles from KnollTextiles and KnollLuxe are seen throughout the store.
In addition, the flagship is decorated with artwork from Tracey Emin, Catherine Opie, Juergen Teller, José Dávila, Mario Testino, Bruce Weber and Russell Young.
"This move and expansion is, in large part, about a desire to be at the epicenter of Downtown's rather young renaissance," Bolke says. "Dallas is unfinished in many ways, so it feels like we are a part of this evolving momentum and potential. If I didn't believe that we could deliver a truly unmatched retail experience, we wouldn't be here."
Founded by Brian Bolke and Shelly Musselman in April 2000, Forty Five Ten quickly became one of Dallas’ premier boutique destinations and helped foster many designers’ careers. Bolke, Forty Five Ten President, launched Forty Five Ten after working at I.Magnin and Neiman Marcus, where he served as store designer, and after opening the Avant Garden flower shop. In 2014, Forty Five Ten entered a partnership with Headington Companies to develop the new flagship store.
The retailer previously occupied an 8,000-square-foot space on McKinney Avenue and opened the flagship store to offer customers more depth and breadth in its product assortment. Bolke also hired Nick Wooster and Taylor Tomasi Hill to lead the Forty Five Ten buying teams. Wooster serves as Men’s Fashion Director and Hill serves as VP Creative/Fashion Director. Forty Five Ten also operates TTH, a boutique curated by Taylor Tomasi Hill who put together a product assortment that highlights young talent and is tailored to the young customer.
Forty Five Ten plans to open new locations in the River Oaks District in Houston in late November 2016 and on McKinney in Dallas in January 2017.
