Forty Five Ten owner acquires Tenoversix, Kristen Cole named chief of both retailers

Dallas real estate developer Headington Companies is on a real estate crusade and it involves high-concept retailers.

The privately held firm, which is involved in many areas including restaurants and hospitality, has announced the acquisition of Tenoversix, a fashion and design store known for its gallery-like setting founded in Los Angeles.

It’s the second luxury retailer Headington has acquired, having purchased fellow high-end retailer Forty Five Ten in 2014.

Through the acquisition, Tenoversix co-founder Kristen Cole has been appointed president and chief creative officer of both Forty Five Ten and Tenoversix. Meanwhile, co-founder and Kristen's husband, Joe Cole, will continue his role as a creative consultant-at-large for Headington Cos.

Headington Cos. has also announced plans to open additional brick-and-mortar locations and to conduct a robust digital transformation for both retailers. Forty Five Ten does not currently operate a transactional e-commerce website.

Forty Five Ten currently has four locations in Dallas, one in Houston and one in Yountville, California. Tenoversix has locations in Dallas and plans to open one in Miami.

Earlier this month, Forty Five Ten equally announced plans to open its first store in the big apple, a 16,000-square-foot space, in Manhattan's $20 billion-plus development Hudson Yards, slated to open in March 2019.
