American actress Andie MacDowell has succeeded her compatriot Julianne Moore as brand ambassador for French women’s ready-to-wear label Un Jour Ailleurs. She will be the face of the Autumn/Winter 2018-19 advertising campaign for the fashion retailer which targets women in their fifties, and has also co-designed a capsule collection for the brand.

For Un Jour Ailleurs, Andie MacDowell, who has also been a brand ambassador for L’Oréal for many years, stars in the campaign for a special classic-chic collection which echoes her Scottish roots. The collection consists of about 15 items, featuring tartan fabrics, British-style knitwear and a Prince of Wales check suit. It will be available in-store at the end of August, at prices ranging from €119 for an embroidered top to €349 for a suit jacket in wool blend.

Like her predecessor, Andie MacDowell, 60, has been chosen to ramp up the popularity of Un Jour Ailleurs, a label founded in 1984 which went through a troubled phase in 2014, leading to a protection procedure which has since been terminated. Un Jour Ailleurs, owned by the Naxicap investment fund, is planning to increase the number of its French stores, currently at 150, through a franchising affiliation strategy. It is also distributed via about fifty stores outside France, for example at Italian department store chain Coin
