Galeries Lafayette Group hires Alexandra van Weddingen to head communications

Galeries Lafayette has announced the appointment of Alexandra van Weddingen as director of corporate communications for the group. She will report directly to the company's chairman of the executive board, Philippe Houzé.

Weddingen is replacing Marie-Hélène Plainfossé, who will remain with the group in charge of human resources and talent management.

Before joining the Galeries Lafayette group, Alexandra van Weddingen spent over 10 years at Brunswick as a director. The company is an international consulting firm in financial and strategic business communications.

At Brunswick, she assisted a long list of companies in their corporate strategy and financial communications, especially related to stock-market listings.

Alexandra van Weddingen had been advising Galeries Lafayette Group since March 2012 on corporate communications as part of the company's international development and efforts to change its operational scope.

The executive is 33 years old and a graduate of the Institut Superieur de Gestion.
