Holt Renfrew celebrates Canada for ‘H Project’
Mar 2, 2017
Holt Renfrew’s H Project shop is ready for its fourth edition, this time with a focus on Canadian craft, culture and artisans in celebration of the country 150th and the Canadian retailer’s 180th birthday.
“We are so proud to celebrate brands that are not only local but have integrated sustainability into their business,” says Alexandra Weston, Holt Renfrew’s Director of Brand & Creative Strategy, in a news statement. “H Project celebrates extraordinary products with extraordinary stories and this year, our product selection is exclusively Canadian! We cannot wait to tell you their stories.”
Founded in May 2013, H Project is a specialty department within Holt Renfrew that focuses on offering products that are all socially responsible in terms of where they are made, by whom, with what materials, and how they give back.
The annual partnering takes place with designers from various regions of the world through its “Uncrate a Culture” program including India in 2014, Africa in 2015, and South America in 2016.
For 2017, Uncrate Canada made its debut on Wednesday at Holt Renfrew stores in Ontario, Calgary and Vancouver. The selection includes socially responsible pieces from 25 brands such as fashion, accessories, homewares and cosmetics that showcase “the caring spirit” of Canadian talent.
Items include Lowell bag’s crafted with ethically sourced full grain or vegetable-tanned leather and cotton, and handmade in Montreal; lingerie and loungewear manufactured in Montreal by Mary Young; Natural soaks, soaps and scents from Harlow Skin Co., Lucia and Charlotte & Castel, and more.
Items from Uncrate Canada are available in store and online now through the holiday season.
