Hudson’s Bay Company on Monday announced the appointment of Ed Burstell as Head of Partnerships, a new position for the company, effective December 5, 2016.
As Head of Partnerships, Burstell will develop and lead partnerships to drive innovative and exclusive offerings across all of Hudson’s Bay’s global banners. He will also report to HBC CEO Jerry Storch.
Burstell heads to Hudson’s Bay Company from Liberty London where he was instrumental in the brand’s many partnerships including collaborations with Nike and Uniqlo and first-ever collaborations and pop up shops with Hermès and Manolo Blahnik. The partnerships led by Burstell contributed to Liberty’s double-digit year-over-year growth.
Prior to Liberty London, Burstell served as SVP of Accessories, Footwear, Fine Jewelry, Designer Jewelry, Cosmetics and Fragrance at Bergdorf Goodman, and General Manager of Henri Bendel.
Hudson’s Bay Company recently reported a 60% increase in quarterly sales partly due to its expansion in Europe, acquisition of Gilt in early 2016 and the opening of the Gilt store at Saks Off Fifth Manhattan.
