Ingo Wilts leaves Hugo Boss

It was a lightning quick return for Ingo Wilts at Hugo Boss. Indeed, the German designer worked for the label from 2000 to 2009, before coming back in July to take over management of the Hugo Boss men's division. After just five months, the designer is getting ready to leave the German group on 30 November, according to German media outlet TextilWirtschaft, which cited internal sources at the company.

According to the publication, Ingo Wilts has "freely" chosen to leave the group. But a source questioned within the company says that nonetheless there was a problem between the role attributed to the designer and the one played by American Jason Wu, who has been supervising the artistic direction of the women's division since 2013, with a growing influence on the brand's communications and 360° image.

Ingo Wilts's role will be filled in the interim by Christoph Auhagen, the group's chief brand officer.

After nine years spent at Hugo Boss, Ingo Wilts joined Kenneth Cole in 2009 and then Elie Tahari in New York, before becoming creative manager for Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam... and then coming back to the German group.
