Interfilière Paris: 10,500 visitors at “quiet” edition

Published
Jul 12, 2014

The trade fair focused on intimates and beachwear fabrics gathered together 10,501 visitors for its latest edition, held July 5 to 7 at Porte de Versailles (Paris) alongside various other fashion and lingerie trade shows.

Interfilière, July 2014

Attendance saw a 5% decline and the number of exhibitors dropped from 300 to 280 compared to July 2013. The trend was particularly evident during first day of the event, which was quieter than usual. While the show shared a common entrance with Mode City - visitors encouraged to sign up for both shows - this did not stem the decline. According to its organizer Eurovet, the events were nevertheless well "supported and implemented.”

French professionals naturally showed up in the greatest numbers. However, this year Italy rose to second place, relegating Britain to the third. These were followed by Germany, the United States and China, which overtook Hong Kong and Spain. Russia, for its part, occupied ninth place, while the Netherlands entered the Top 10 at the expense of Switzerland.

The next edition of Interfilière will be held in New York on 23 September, at 82 Mercer Street. After that, there will be the Chinese edition, held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center October 20 - 21.

During the latter, the complete results of a survey on Chinese consumers of lingerie will be released. The study’s initial results, which were published by FashionMag, were presented on July 7 at Interfilière Paris.
