Invista partners with Manufacture New York on ‘Commuter Wear’

Published

Fiber-maker, Invista and fashion tech startup, Manufacture New York, have unveiled their collection of ‘Commuter Wear’ partnership made from T400 technology and other fabric and fiber innovations from Lycra brand and Lycra Sport Fiber.

Invista's Commuter Wear line with Manufacture NY

Invista partnered with Manufacture New York, or MNY, due to the company’s dedication to innovation. MNY provides independent fashion designers with resources and skills to streamline their design and manufacturing process. Both companies produced the collection based on surveys that INVISTA conducted last year that found that lifestyles were main driver behind buying trends.

“There’s been a sizeable shift in corporate culture recently, with active and outdoor wear being embraced by busy millennial professionals," explained Heather Stefani, Invista’s Global Segment Director, Active and Outdoor. “We’re excited to be in the thick of this changing mindset because companies are starting to understand the need for commuter wear and to accept it as part of the working lifestyle.”

The collection consists of pieces made with stretch materials with freedom of movement in mind. INVISTA’s T400 and COOLMAX technologies were merged to create these styles that allow for wearers to feel comfortable biking, hiking or on their daily commute.

Stefani added, 'Essentially, we’re pairing cutting-edge designers with cutting-edge fabrics.  And since the workplace is changing, with commuter wear assuming a more prominent position in the workplace, we have a chance to help shape the future of athleisure.'

Invista is one of the world’s largest producers of polymers and fibers, primarily nylon, spandex and polyester. The company holds the global trademarks for Coolmax, Cordura, Freshfx, Lycra, Supplex, Tactel, and Thermolite.
