Italia Independent and adidas Originals: new 'Eyewear Originals' collection

Italia Independent and Adidas have presented the products originating from the collaboration announced last September: from spring-summer 2016 Italia Independent will develop, manufacture and distribute 'Eyewear Originals' products. The worldwide launch took place this weekend at Opti Munich, one of eyewear's leading international trade shows.

The eyeglasses are inspired by Adidas Originals' creative, energetic street style, and are manufactured in a light polymer with rubber details, a clear reference to the Originals' sneaker heritage.

The collection combines the signature values of both brands, blending tradition with innovation for a sunglasses range created using state-of-the-art production methods: bi-injection moulding and high-resolution digital printing.

The temples are completely flexible and minimalistic in design, and feature the brand's logo, embossed in rubber. The hinges are wholly integrated in the frame, so that they are invisible, while the screws inside them are decorated with a cap, on which the adidas Originals logo has been laser-printed.

The nose pads are made in TR90 material and are interchangeable, so that their fit can be adapted to each market's requirements. The lenses offer the highest level of anti-UV protection. They are available in a wide range of variants, always matching the frame's colour.

The adidas Originals collection, available also with prescription lenses, will be available from January 2016 at the adidas Originals store network, at Italia Independent stores, on the brands' respective online platforms, at select opticians and fashion stores worldwide, at a retail price of €89.
