Mickey Drexler, J.Crew's Chairman and CEO, sent an email Saturday morning to customers outlining how the chain plans to upgrade its offerings.
Drexler’s email stated that the J.Crew team is dedicated to providing its customers with the "best quality, design, service and prices." He also invited customers to reach out to him personally. He wrote, "If there's something you think we can do better. I want to hear it — just email me: [email protected]."
Whether or not intentional, it seems like the email is the brand’s promise to learn from recent fashion missteps. Moving forward, J.Crew will return to its earlier years, offering on-trend, high quality and affordable casual and work apparel.
Founded in 1983, J.Crew mailed its first catalog. Its first storefront opened in New York City in 1989. To date, the brand operates approximately 504 stores, as well as an e-commerce site.
