Junk Food and Levi's open Venice concept

Published
Nov 28, 2017

Junk Food Clothing has revitalized its four year old Abbot Kinney flagship in Venice, CA to showcase a new fashion and art concept with a collaboration between the t-shirt brand and Levi Strauss & Co.

Tees and Jeans

The new concept is called Tees and Jeans ("Tees + Jeans") and the in-store assortment offers customers a mix of 40 percent blank Junk Food tees and 60 percent Levi's denim. The 2,700-square-foot space also hosts a Levi's Tailor Shop where customers can customize and repair their denim.

Blair Digiacomo, Junk Food’s DTC General Manager, said of the concept that "It’s a new relationship between Levi’s and Junk Food and it is truly the best ingredients with unlimited possibilities."

Digiacomo stated that Tees and Jeans is a scalable model. She added that "there are plans to open others like it, depending on the space and/or partner," indicating both mall partnerships and free-standing spaces could work.

In addition to partnering with Levi's for denim, the space will utilize its Abbot Kinney location to house a gallery and activations with rotating art from artists and brands. The upcoming calendar includes events ranging from exhibitions of work from local artists to large-scale Netflix brand activations.

Artist and documentarian Craig Stecyk was featured for the opening earlier this month. His "Dogtown and Z-Boys" set the stage for a tribute to Venice skate culture at the front of the space, and his artwork was screen printed on tees and denim in the store.

Junk Food's Tees and Jeans is located at 1103 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, CA.
