Kohl’s announces Board of Directors appointment and resignation

Kohl’s announced on Thursday that Adrianne Shapira has been elected to the Board of Directors, effective immediately, and Dale Jones resigned as a member of the Board, effective August 9, 2016.

“Adrianne is a great addition to our board,” said Kevin Mansell, Kohl’s chairman, chief executive officer and president. “Her strong financial expertise as well as her broad understanding of the retail industry will be valuable assets to Kohl’s.

Mansell added, “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank Dale Jones for his many contributions to Kohl’s since joining our board in 2008. We wish him well in all of his future endeavors.”

Shapira was the Chief Financial Officer of David Yurman from October 2012 to February 2016, and prior to joining the company she had a 13-year tenure at Goldman Sachs.

The new Board member has been elected to a term expiring at Kohl’s 2017 annual shareholders meeting and will be eligible for re-election by Kohl’s shareholders at that time. She will initially serve on the Board of Directors’ Governance and Nominating Committee.
