Kohl’s has decided to pull the plug on its experimental in-store coffee shops.

The retailer was currently trying out the Kohl’s Café concept in two southeastern Wisconsin department stores. The trial coffee shops opened in September 2015 and sold Caribou Coffee selections, as well as grab-and-go snacks like baked cookies, granola bars, breakfast bars and chips.

Though the company says the coffee shops were appreciated by customers, they did not provide any business benefits as hoped for.

The Company is currently employing ongoing efforts to find new ways to drive sales this year. For 2016, they announced plans to pilot a new smaller format Kohl’s store in 7 locations around in the United States and to open 12 Fila outlet stores, which will mark Kohl’s first entry into the outlet space.

For the 2015 financial year, Kohl’s only reported a 1 percent sales growth.
