L'Oréal Paris announced on Friday the launch of the Canadian Women of Worth program. The Canadian grant program will recognize women who make a difference in their communities.

"In bringing Women of Worth to Canada, L'Oréal Paris will empower ten of the country's most innovative volunteer champions to heighten the impact of their philanthropic work while shining a well-deserved spotlight on her work, her cause and her altruism," explains Stephanie Binette, General Manager, L'Oréal Paris in Canada, in a news statement.

The program was modeled off of L'Oréal Paris USA's Women of Worth program, which has already honoured 100 women over the past decade.

The 2017 Canadian program will start accepting nominations on September 20, 2016 through November 28, 2016. The public is invited to nominate Canadian women volunteers at womenofworth.ca. Following a review process, ten Honourees will be chosen and will each be awarded a $10,000 grant for her non-profit cause. One of these Honourees, chosen by a judging panel and announced at the awards gala, will also be selected as the National Honouree and awarded an additional $10,000 grant for a total of $20,000 to support her organization.

In addition to providing financial grants to support their organizations, the Women of Worth program will provide a platform for Canadian women to promote their causes, and will offer marketing support, provide tools and training, and facilitate networking to help Honourees make a greater impact.

L'Oréal Paris is a division of L'Oréal Canada. Headquartered in Montreal, L'Oréal Canada had sales of $1.054 billion in 2015.
