LXRandCo enters UK in deal with House of Fraser

Published
Aug 29, 2017

LXRandCo, the Canadian omnichannel retailer of branded vintage luxury handbags and accessories, has opened its first store in the UK in a new deal with department store chain House of Fraser.

LXRandCo

The deal will see LXRandCo locations opened in five of the chain’s top performing stores with the debut concession having opened in the Oxford Street, London branch late last week.

The move is an interesting one for HoF wit the retail giant having previously focused on new product only. It comes as the chain reinvents itself to cope with increasing competition via a focus on topselling brands and categories and reconnects with what its core shopper wants.

HoF is LXRandCo’s sixth retail partner overall as its rolls its offer out internationally. The bag specialist’s CEO Fred Mannella said: “Our vintage luxury product offering celebrates the iconic nature of luxury brands, while embracing the rapidly emerging trend of reuse and extension of product lifespans.

“Shoppers from around the world flock to Oxford Street in London, which makes the HoF flagship store there the ideal location for our first opening with this new partner."

For the rest of the year, the company is working to double the size of its current retail network, opening more than 60 additional locations with both existing and new retail partners, to start 2018 with an international tally of over120 stores.
The next four House of Fraser locations (in Guildford, Manchester, Edinburgh and Leeds), will open in what’s left of August and in September.

LXRandCo currently has 61 stores with nine located in Canada, 38 in the US, 10 in Germany and four in Belgium. It has offices in Montréal, Québec, and Tokyo, Japan.
