Lanvin to close Chicago flagship

French fashion house Lanvin is closing its doors at its Chicago flagship. The flagship, located at 116 East Oak Street in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood, opened in 2013. St. John is expected to take over the space after renovations.

Chicago’s Gold Coast, just north of downtown Chicago and bordering Lake Michigan, is the city’s luxury shopping destination. Several designer boutiques reside in the neighborhood including Barneys New York, Christian Louboutin, Brunello Cucinelli and Hermes.
 
Lanvin was established in 1889 by Jeanne Lanvin in Paris. The company operates as a subsidiary of Harmonie S.A. The company offers bags, small leather goods, footwear, accessories and sunglasses for men and women and apparel, footwear and accessories for children. Products are available at retail stores in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami and Costa Mesa, in addition to its Chicago boutique. Lanvin is also available in Brazil, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. 

St. John was founded in 1962 by Robert and Marie Gray. The company’s first standalone boutique debuted in 1989 in Palm Desert, California. St. John currently operates a boutique at 919 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago. The brand is also available at Saks, Neiman Marcus and other designer department stores, and at several boutiques throughout the United States and globally.
