Lenovo unveiled a new prototype Smart Shoe at the Tech World Show in San Francisco. The company released a preview video featuring the shoe and its many features.

The Lenovo Smart Shoe

The crimson sneaker is capable of counting steps, tracking walking gestures and customizing insoles through 3D scanning. The Smart Shoe also features a 3D printed midsole and smart lighting for foot movement control and music interaction. The new tech sneaker is very advanced for its unique gaming functionality. Lenovo says that the Smart Shoe has fitness competition and interactive gaming capabilities.

The Smart Shoe is a natural progression from workout applications that track your steps and distance. Products like Fitbit, Nike’s Fuelband and Under Armour’s UA Band are just a few products that track activity, but Lenovo’s Smart Shoe is one of the first to track all of the information via a sneaker instead of an accessory.

Under Armour also made a leap into movement tracking sneakers with its Gemini 2 sneakers that it unveiled at CES in January.

Lenovo has sponsored fashion shows or partnered with fashion projects in the past including Fashion Week Stockholm this year and recently the Toni Maticevski Resort 2017 show at Australian Fashion Week.
