Macy’s is set to kick off its annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. For Hispanic Heritage Month, between the days of September 16 and October 16, Macy’s will celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture and accomplishments with international platinum-selling recording artist Jencarlos Canela.
The retailer will host panel discussions with Canela at six Macy’s retail locations as well as live candid conversations with customers. The first event will be held in Miami at Macy’s Dadeland on Thursday, September 22, followed by Herald Square in New York City, State Street in Chicago, Memorial City in Houston, Valley Fair in Santa Clara, CA and finally at the Stonewood Center Downey, CA.
“I am grateful to Macy's for giving me a chance to celebrate with my people and for bringing us together,” Canela said. “Hispanic Heritage Month is a tribute to our diversity, unity, rich cultures, our passion, our strive for excellence that makes us who we are all across the board from the arts, sports, medicine, and science. Proud to be 100 percent American and 100 percent Latino. There are no obstacles, just opportunities!”
Jencarlos Canela starred as ‘Xavier Castillo’ in the comedy series “Telenovela” alongside Eva Longoria, and most recently appeared in the lead role of ‘Jesus Christ’ in “The Passion” on Fox. Canela just wrapped up his latest Spanish single “Pa Que Me Invitan” to be released in the fall and is currently working on his English-language album debut for Republic Records.
Last year, Macy’s celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with celebrities Mario Lopez, Don Omar and Angel Marino.
