Apr 7 - Trading on Macy's was briefly paused on Thursday after a sudden change in the price of the retailer's shares, the New York Stock Exchange said.
Nine trades ranging from $24.25 to $23.25, significantly lower than where the stock had been trading for most of the session, hit the tape at 11:31 a.m.

Those trades, which were traded on the NYSE Arca exchange, were later canceled, the NYSE said.
The trading pause was triggered after trades at $25.58, more than 10 percent above $23.25, were executed.
"It was a normal circuit breaker," said a spokeswoman for NYSE Euronext, which runs the New York Stock Exchange.
Five-minute trading pauses, or circuit-breakers, are triggered after a security varies 10 percent or more in a five-minute period.
Macy's shares were up 0.3 percent at $25.27.
