Madewell launches collaboration capsule with Where I Was From

Madewell on Tuesday launched a new collaboration collection with online shop Where I Was From.

 
The 12-piece capsule collection is comprised of garment dyed jeans, graphic t-shirts and white denim pieces all designed for the warmer climate. Traveling to a New Mexico lavender farm and bi-annual vintage sourcing trips inspired the collection that evokes a throwback, vintage aesthetic.
 
“We have long admired Where I Was From’s way of styling and updating vintage pieces,” said Madewell head designer Joyce Lee. “It felt natural for us to work together on a capsule inspired by some of their favorite vintage finds.”

Stacy Daily of Where I Was From said they found a “dead stock broken twill fabric from the 70s and washed it to give it a well-worn feel” in order to recreate a pair of 40 year old jeans for the collection.
 
Daily and Claire Lampert co-founded Where I Was From, the online shop and vintage studio. The Brooklyn-based duo also operates denim line B Sides Jeans.
 
The new collaboration follows Madewell’s recent entrance into the intimates market. The brand launched its first line of intimates in February, including bralettes and bottoms.
 
Madewell x Where I Was From is available now at 16 Madewell stores and online. Prices range from $18.50 to $158.
